SR Venturing President

Josh Nolan, from Dawsonville, Georgia, is a member of Crew 109 in the Northeast Georgia Council.  Josh has been the NEGA Venturing Officer’s Association President for two years. He has served as the 2011 Winterfest Venturing Youth Chairman, a consultant and staff member of two Powder Horn Courses, Kodiak Trek Director, National Camp School Staff, Summer Camp Department Director, National Jamboree, ICORPS at Summit CORPS and is a climbing, trek and shotgun instructor. Also he is serving as the National NRA Youth Ambassador for Boy Scouts of America – Venturing. Josh has earned the Bronze, Gold, Silver, Council Venturing Leadership Award, Ranger, and has completed the Wood Badge course. As a Boy Scout he earned the rank of Eagle and is currently an Assistant Scoutmaster and a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.

Josh attends Gainesville State College where he is majoring in Applied Environmental Spatial Analysis. He has received the Lewis Roger Outstanding Geology Student Award and has made it to the Dean’s List twice. Josh also works part time as a Teacher Assistant for the Institute of Environmental Spatial Analysis. In the meantime Josh serves as the Vice President for the Geospatial Alliance club and the President of the Student for Environmental Awareness club.
