Jason Dreyzehner is currently a senior at Abingdon High School in Abingdon, Virginia and is serving as Region 6 President. Jason started in scouting as a Tiger Cub at age 6, earned his Arrow of Light and moved into Boy Scout Troop 222 where he earned his Eagle Rank in 2008 and continued in leadership earning 11 Palms. Jason was active in the OA, served as District Chief, Lodge Vice Chief of Communications and IT, 2009 Section Conclave Chairman, and on the staff of National Chief’s Corps of NOAC. He received the Vigil Honor and continues to serve as Assistant Scoutmaster of his troop. In 2009 he helped found his Venture Crew 71 and served as the first Crew Vice President and Secretary, moving into President and currently is Jr. Associate Advisor. Jason started the Ethics in Action Program, led 3 Hornaday Conservation Projects, earned Bronze, Gold, and Silver Awards, Ranger, and the Venturing Leadership Award. Jason led 2 VLSC’s, a Kodiak, completed the Kodiak Course Director Certification and Philmont NAYLE, and has been nominated for the National Youth Leadership Society. Highlights of his scouting career include the SAJ/BSA Friendship Program where he gave the American Scout address to the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology in Tokyo in Feb 2011, and the 2007 Centennial of Scouting celebration on Brown Sea Island, England and the 2010 National Jamboree and Centennial Parade.
In addition to scouting, Jason is serving as the 2011-12 Technology Student Association (TSA) National Sergeant at Arms and National Chairperson of the Technology Advisory Group. He has been a TSA National Champion in Inventions and Innovations and has created a promotional typography video with original techno music used nationwide by TSA Chapters. He is sole proprietor of a web and graphic design business called Neoarx, Inc. and has provided over 4000 hours of community service, including web and graphic design services, to a variety of non- profit organizations earning the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, “Lifetime- Call to Service” as well as the Congressional Gold Award. He is a musician and vocalist and has performed in the Hungarian Parliament as part of his third international choir exchange. He enjoys playing soccer, acrobatics, and is an All State swimmer.
Jason recently returned from Korolev, Russia where he competed and placed first overall in the 19th Annual, International Space Olympics, taking exams in mathematics, physics, and computer science, and presenting an original research project involving genetic engineering and space exploration. In the future, Jason plans to major in and conduct research in Nanomedicine. He aspires to develop innovative ways to diagnose and treat diseases.
