Regional Boatswain Job Description

The Regional Boatswain serves as the youth representative on the Regional Sea Scouting Committee as well as serves on the Regional Venturing Committee. He or she works with the Southern Region Venturing President to foster a cooperative relationship between Sea Scouting and other Venturing programs in the Southern Region for the mutual betterment of all Southern Region Sea Scouts. The Regional Boatswain also serves on the National Sea Scouting Advisory Committee as the Region’s youth representative. The Southern Region Boatswain communicates with the various ships and squadrons throughout the Southern Region in order to help to better the program and so he or she can also bring the scouts’ concerns and program ideas to the Regional Committee. Along with this the Boatswain’s other responsibility is to attend Sea Scout meetings and events around the Region.
