Welcome to the website of Southern Region Venturing. Here you can learn about the people and projects of the SR Venturing Officers' Association, and how you can become involved.

Some information to help you navigate this site:
The Venturing Officers' Association includes the SR President, Boatswain, Vice Presidents, Communications Team, Council Support Team and the Area Presidents of the nine Areas in the Southern Region, along with their volunteer and professional Advisors. You can access information about these people, minutes of our meetings, and reference tools from this page.

The four projects of SR Venturing in 2009 are promoting international Scouting, developing leadership training opportunities for every Venturer, expanding and deepening our environmental commitments, and our service project: staffing the outdoor events of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We hope every Venturer will participate in every project in some way during 2009.

The Southern Region is made up of nine Areas, and each Area has its own page. Here you can learn about the people who lead Venturing in the 10-12 Councils that make up each Area, and learn about the opportunities that are available near your Crew or Ship.

The Communications Team is responsible for our newsletter, The Venturer; our Regional and Area groups on Facebook; and this website. We are always in need of articles for the newsletter and website, and want the Facebook groups to become places where we can share ideas, opinions and experiences.

The Council Support Team is here to help you begin and develop an effective VOA in every Council. Some of these people are available to travel and help you face-to-face. Others can provide contact information, print and internet resources, or advice and encouragement by phone and/or email. If you have experience with starting a Council VOA, or have served on a Council VOA and have advice to share, we want to hear what you have to say!

The Southern Region Venturing website is always "under construction." Please share your suggestions and contributions with the Southern Region Venturing President or the SRV Webmaster.
